Discusses the effective point of measurement (EPOM) for thimble chambers
in megavoltage photon beams. Based on the results of Monte Carlo
simulations, its is shown that the EPOM depends on every detail of the
chamber geometry and is generally different from the recommended
upstream shift of 0.6 times cavity radius.

Discusses various artifacts due to the inaccurate implementation
of the condensed history technique and gives analytical expressions
for their effect on the simulated cavity dose. Demonstrates that

Short paper which provides a correction for electron contamination in
photon beams when a 1mm lead foil is placed in the beam. The original
purpose was to allow the lead foil to be at 30 cm from the phantom but
paper also corrects some mistakes found in the earlier paper by Li
and Rogers on the same subject.
